Welcome to the 2005-2006 Avon Lake Parks and Recreation Department Youth Basketball Program.  This recreational league does not require try-outs and is for children of all skill levels in grades 1-7/(8)girls.  Individuals playing on a CYO Team or a 7th/8th grade Learwood Team are NOT eligible to participate.

The Avon Lake Recreation Youth Basketball League was created to provide an opportunity for children to play in an organized and safe indoor setting that stresses sportsmanship and fun.  The future of this league lies with the players, coaches, and parents.  The expectation is that the level of play will be of high quality with a strong sense of good sportsmanship. Click here to download more info -> Avon Lake Youth Basketball Forms

 Youth Basketball  -  Boys, grades 3-7 and Girls, grades 3-8

This popular basketball league utilizes a volunteer coaching staff to teach children the fundamentals of basketball including ball-handling techniques, shooting, teamwork, team strategy, and sportsmanship.  Teams practice (1) hour per week and games are played on Saturday (boys) or Sunday (girls).  Specific information pertaining to practices and games will be determined by the Recreation Department and given to coaches, who will notify players of practice and game schedule shortly after December 16.

Practices: Begin the week of January 2

Games:  Jan. 14 – Mar. 4

League Division:

Boys 3/4    

Girls 3/4

Fee:  $45

Registration Deadline:  Nov. 23 (late fee: $15)

 

  Youth Basketball  -  Boys, grades 1-2 and Girls, grades 1-2

             This program is an instructional league that meets (1) time per week for one hour (Boys/Sat.) (Girls/Sun.).  The focus of the league will be on fun & fundamentals! Players will practice with their own team for the first half hour and scrimmage an opposing team for the second half hour. Coaches will contact players with assigned team and schedule.
